Deck overview

This deck is a high-speed competitive mono-black turbo combo list commanded by K'rrik, Son of Yawgmoth. The core strategy revolves around leveraging K'rrik's static ability to pay 2 life instead of black mana, effectively turning life totals into explosive mana velocity. Through a dense package of fast artifact mana, dark rituals, and cheap tutors, the deck consistently casts K'rrik on Turn 1 or 2 and immediately transitions into massive draw engines such as Peer into the Abyss or reanimating Vilis, Broker of Blood. Once online, the deck generates excess mana with sacrifice rituals and executes instant table kills via Chainer, Dementia Master looping Gray Merchant of Asphodel, Hoarding Broodlord tutor chains with Saw in Half, or Necrotic Ooze copying Asmodeus the Archfiend and Skirge Familiar. While fragile against heavy stack interaction and hard graveyard hate, its raw assembly speed and high redundancy make it an exceptionally potent proactive threat.
