Deck overview

This mono-black Equipment Voltron deck is built around Whiplash, Vengeful Engineer, a 1-drop commander whose attack trigger drains each opponent for the number of Equipment attached to him. The core strategy is simple: deploy the commander as early as turn 1, suit him up with a dense 26-Equipment suite, and swing repeatedly to drain the table out of 40-life pools. The deck leans heavily on artifact synergies - Bloodforged Battle-Axe creates exponential copies as it connects, Cranial Plating and Nettlecyst scale with artifact count, and Adaptive Omnitool provides repeatable card selection. Secondary threats like Armory Automaton, Ronin, Shadow Stalker, and Zenos yae Galvus can take over if Whiplash is answered. The deck packs zero countermagic and relies entirely on targeted removal and cheap protection spells to keep its commander alive. It wins through incremental combat damage over multiple turns rather than any fast infinite combo.
