Deck overview

This deck is a Rakdos group slug strategy commanded by Valgavoth, Harrower of Souls. The primary game plan revolves around deploying cheap, persistent damage sources such as Roiling Vortex, Razorkin Needlehead, and Kederekt Parasite on the early turns, followed by casting Valgavoth on Turn 3 or 4. Because Valgavoth triggers whenever an opponent loses life for the first time on each of their turns, the deck draws three extra cards per table cycle while growing Valgavoth into a massive flying threat. On subsequent turns, the deck establishes lethal pressure using asymmetric punishment engines like Manabarbs, Sheoldred, the Apocalypse, and Solphim, Mayhem Dominus, grinding opposing life totals to zero by Turn 7. It also includes the deterministic two-card infinite combo of Exquisite Blood and Sanguine Bond as a compact win condition.
