Deck overview

This mono-black aristocrats deck is helmed by Avacyn, Angel of Horror, an 8/8 flying powerhouse that returns every nontoken creature you control to the battlefield at the beginning of the next end step when it dies. The deck establishes early mana velocity through dense 1–3 CMC ramp, rituals, and land engines like Cabal Coffers and Phyrexian Tower. By Turn 4, it deploys free sacrifice outlets such as Yawgmoth, Thran Physician, Ashnod's Altar, and Warren Soultrader alongside draw engines like Skullclamp and Grim Haruspex. On Turn 5, it triggers critical onset by resolving Grave Pact, Razaketh, the Foulblooded, or Avacyn, Angel of Horror, initiating an oppressive asymmetric attrition loop that strips opposing boards of creatures while endlessly recycling your own ETB and death triggers. The table is eliminated by Turn 7 via multi-opponent drain from Gray Merchant of Asphodel, Kokusho, the Evening Star, and The Meathook Massacre backed by lethal evasive aerial combat.
