Deck overview

This Bant midrange deck leverages +1/+1 counter distribution and proliferate mechanics to overwhelm opponents through combat. Commanded by Tidus, Yuna's Guardian, the deck focuses on curving low-cost counter enablers such as Hardened Scales, Gyre Sage, and Shelinda, Yevon Acolyte into midgame combat payoffs. Tidus provides steady card advantage and counter growth by drawing a card and proliferating whenever modified creatures connect in combat. As counters accumulate, threats like Forgotten Ancient, Wakka, Devoted Guardian, and Chocobo Knights scale power while granting evasion, trample, and double strike. The deck controls the tempo of the table through asymmetric sweepers such as Damning Verdict and Promise of Loyalty, which wipe opposing boards while leaving modified creatures intact. While resilient against destruction through shield counters and Resourceful Defense, the deck relies entirely on fair combat damage, making it susceptible to mass exile, board bounce, and well-timed removal.
