7 Mana Doofuses by user7604795

Format: Commander

Commander: Maular, the Next Evolution

Bracket: 2

Deck overview

This is a five-color "big mana" stompy deck built around Maular, the Next Evolution, a Rulebreaker commander that permits creature cards with mana value 7 or greater of any color identity plus any basic lands. The game plan is straightforward: ramp aggressively, deploy enormous creatures, and let Maular double their power and toughness whenever they attack. The deck wins primarily through combat - a single swing from doubled-power tramplers like Ghalta, Stampede Tyrant or Zacama, Primal Calamity can eliminate opponents - with secondary lines through Etali, Primal Conqueror's free spell-casting and poison transformation, and Maelstrom Wanderer's cascade. Cheat effects like Ghalta's hand-dump, Lurking Predators, and Turntimber Symbiosis accelerate the board. This is a goodstuff pile of the format's biggest creatures, relying on raw size and redundancy rather than combos.
