Deck overview

This is a Dimir "hostile donation" control deck helmed by Jon Irenicus, Shattered One. The core plan is to ramp into Jon, then end-step gift opponents high-power creatures with crippling upkeep, casting, or combat drawbacks-Steel Golem, Grid Monitor, Desecration Elemental, Taniwha, Rotting Regisaur, Thought Devourer, and friends-while those bodies are goaded, unsacrificeable, and padded with +1/+1 counters. Every attack by a creature you own but do not control draws a card, turning the table's combat phase into your engine. The deck backs this with a dense free-counter suite, premium card advantage (Rhystic Study, Mystic Remora, Necropotence, The One Ring), and drain payoffs (Sheoldred, the Apocalypse, Underworld Dreams, Orcish Bowmasters). Wins come from locking opponents out of casting, halving life totals with Ebonblade Reaper, and closing via attrition or Bolas's Citadel.
