Deck overview

This deck is a Grixis upkeep-synergy deck led by Obeka, Splitter of Seconds. The primary strategy focuses on connecting in combat with Obeka to gain additional upkeep steps equal to the combat damage dealt. The 99 is packed with high-value upkeep triggers covering card draw, token production, hand disruption, and direct life drain. Cards such as Court of Ambition, Descent into Avernus, Bonehoard Dracosaur, and Twilight Prophet generate compounding advantage that escalates rapidly when triggered multiple times per turn. To ensure Obeka deals combat damage reliably, the deck incorporates evasive equipment and enchantments like Aqueous Form, Whispersilk Cloak, and Silent Arbiter, while power boosters like Blackblade Reforged exponentially increase the resulting upkeep yield. The deck wins by burning out opponents through multiplied upkeep triggers or overwhelming them with dragon tokens, providing explosive mid-game snowball potential.
