Deck overview

Betor, Ancestor's Voice helms a grindy Abzan lifegain/reanimation deck that turns the difference between life gained and life lost into +1/+1 counters and recursive threats. The primary plan is to drain opponents with Gray Merchant and Blood Artist while using Betor's end step to pump one creature and reanimate another, closing with a large evasive attacker or Akroma's Will. The secondary path is an Innkeeper's Talent + Vraska, Betrayal's Sting poison kill. The commander is the engine but not the only recursion: Living Death, Eternal Witness, and Twilight Diviner provide redundancy. The deck is midrange: it can assemble big board states but lacks an early combo, so it wins through incremental advantage and a final pump.
