Deck overview

This Mono-Black Infect Stax deck combines brutal resource denial with the lethal closing speed of infect damage. Commanded by Skithiryx, the Blight Dragon, the deck aims to establish severe asymmetrical board and mana restrictions early in the game before deploying an evasive, lethal flying clock. High-impact stax pieces such as Contamination, Nether Void, Chains of Mephistopheles, and The Tabernacle at Pendrell Vale choke opponents on mana and cards, breaking parity because the deck relies on basic Swamps and autonomous token engines like Bitterblossom. Fast rituals and mana doublers like Crypt Ghast and Cabal Coffers accelerate Skithiryx ahead of schedule. Once in play, Skithiryx utilizes built-in haste and regeneration to pressure life totals in poison counters, supplemented by pump equipment like Blackblade Reforged and backup threats like Phyrexian Crusader and Inkmoth Nexus. The result is a suffocating control-aggro strategy that dismantles opposing game plans while executing an inevitable multi-turn finish.
