Deck overview

This Izzet deck is built around Tony Stark // The Invincible Iron Man, leveraging fast artifact mana and early card filtering to transform the commander on Turn 4. Once transformed into The Invincible Iron Man, he immediately triggers at the beginning of combat to cheat high-mana artifacts and equipment directly onto the battlefield for free. The deck quickly presents lethal clocks using colossal equipment like Excalibur, Sword of Eden and Genji Glove, oppressive board control through Portal to Phyrexia, or game-ending threats like Blightsteel Colossus. A robust suite of free and efficient counterspells protects the engine during critical turns. If the commander is disrupted, secondary token generators like Simulacrum Synthesizer and big mana from Metalworker ensure powerful backup paths to victory.
