Deck overview

This Jeskai control deck uses Gandalf of the Secret Fire to generate long-term spell advantage by suspending instants and sorceries cast on opponents' turns. Supported by cheap mana rocks and efficient reactive interaction, the deck establishes Gandalf on Turn 4 and starts exiling removal and utility spells to cast them again three turns later. It bridges the midgame with dice-rolling value pieces like Farideh, Devil's Chosen and Component Pouch, as well as spell-trigger engines like Archmage Emeritus and Whirlwind of Thought. As suspended cards resolve, the deck converts cast-from-exile triggers into overwhelming board presence and direct burn through The War Doctor, Metallurgic Summonings, Quintorius Kand, and Arcane Bombardment. Redirection spells like Bolt Bend and Return the Favor protect key permanents while turning opposing threats back at opponents.
