Deck overview

This Grixis spellslinger deck leverages Fire Lord Azula to weaponize the combat phase. By attacking with Azula, the deck generates free firebending mana and duplicates every spell cast while she is attacking. The strategy converts cheap cantrips, rituals, and combat tricks into double the value and damage. An army of magecraft and pinger creatures—including Guttersnipe, Coruscation Mage, and Archmage Emeritus—amplifies every duplicated cast into heavy table-wide life loss and card draw. Interactive pieces like Amphibian Downpour, Deadly Rollick, and Hullbreaker Horror control opposing threats, while Samut, Tyrant of Naktamun and Tidal Barracuda secure uncontested turns. The deck reliably presents a critical, game-ending storm of spells around Turn 5, finishing opponents quickly over 1 response cycle.
