Deck overview

This Queen Marchesa deck executes a classic Mardu aikido and forced-combat control strategy. The deck focuses on introducing the Monarch early to draw extra cards while establishing defensive deterrents like Ghostly Prison, Windborn Muse, and Marchesa's deathtouch Assassins. Rather than racing to eliminate opponents with fast combos, the deck incites table-wide aggression through goad spells such as Disrupt Decorum, Taunt from the Rampart, and Kardur, Doomscourge. As opponents whittle each other down under mandatory combat, the deck holds up devastating reactive instant-speed blowouts like Inkshield, Deflecting Palm, and Comeuppance—many of which are directly fetchable via Sunforger. Once the opposition is depleted and life totals drop, the deck transitions into the endgame with asymmetric finishers like Ruinous Ultimatum, Gisela, Blade of Goldnight, and scaling Court upkeep triggers to secure victory.
