Deck overview

The deck uses K'rrik, Son of Yawgmoth to convert life into mana and deploy expensive black permanents ahead of curve. Its strongest supported finish is Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose plus Exquisite Blood. After both are in play, Sign in Blood targeting an opponent starts a loop: the opponent loses life, Exquisite Blood gains that much life, and Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose converts the gain into more life loss. The loop can eliminate all three opponents in one turn. The weakness is access rather than the combo's operation. Only Diabolic Tutor directly finds either piece, while Final Parting and reanimation cards provide conditional graveyard access. The deck also has useful backup threats, including Aetherflux Reservoir, Gray Merchant of Asphodel, and Vilis, Broker of Blood, but those plans need more setup and do not match the compactness of the main combo.
