Deck overview

This is an Orzhov legendary-attrition deck helmed by Athreos, God of Passage. It wins by grinding: whenever a creature you own dies, opponents either pay 3 life or hand it back, and death-trigger payoffs like Elas il-Kor, Sadistic Pilgrim and the trigger-doubler Teysa Karlov convert every trip to the graveyard into table-wide life loss. The 99 is a dense legendary lineup - the Teysa and Sorin families, Liesa, Shroud of Dusk, Sheoldred, Whispering One, Obzedat, Ghost Council, Elenda, the Dusk Rose - with Tymna the Wea ver supplying real card advantage from the 99. A thick reanimation spine (Whp of Erebos, Debtors' Knell, Primevals' Glorious Rebirth) makes each legend effectively eternal. The deck closes through attrition drains, a critical mass of evasive flyers from Blot Out the Sky, Inkshield, and the Sorin walkers, and X-spell finishers Exsanguinate and Deat h Grasp, often set up by a one-sided mass-return turn.
