Deck overview

This deck is an Esper draw-drain control deck commanded by Queza, Augur of Agonies. The strategy converts card advantage into direct life loss for opponents while continuously buffering your own life total. Early turns focus on establishing mana rocks and passive card-draw permanents such as Phyrexian Arena, Trouble in Pairs, and Faerie Mastermind. Once Queza, Augur of Agonies enters the battlefield, every cantrip and extra draw directly damages opposing life totals. The deck scales into the mid-to-late game by deploying damage amplifiers like Psychosis Crawler, token generators like Alandra, Sky Dreamer, and potential infinite loops with Drogskol Reaver. A robust suite of Esper removal and counterspells keeps opposing threats in check, while defensive pieces like Propaganda and Authority of the Consuls slow down aggressive combat strategies. The deck wins either through massive non-combat drain, lethal evasive token attacks, or an uninterrupted trigger loop.
