Deck overview

This mono-black attrition deck uses Tergrid, God of Fright to transform symmetric discard and sacrifice effects into decisive resource theft. The deck accelerates in the opening turns using fast mana rocks, rituals, and cost reducers before landing Tergrid or heavy stax enchantments like Oppression and Bottomless Pit. Once Tergrid resolves alongside spells such as Dark Deal or Plaguecrafter, she strips opposing hands and boards while putting those permanents directly onto your battlefield. Parity breakers like Waste Not and Geth's Grimoire replenish your hand and mana reserves as opponents lose their options. If Tergrid is removed, the deck easily pivots to big-mana finishers including Torment of Hailfire, Valgavoth, Terror Eater, and reanimated beaters powered by Cabal Coffers and Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx.
