Deck overview

This deck is a high-velocity Boros Equipment Voltron build helmed by Lightning, Army of One. Lightning combines first strike, trample, and lifelink with her Stagger ability, which doubles all damage dealt to an opponent once she connects. The deck accelerates into play with efficient mana rocks and equipment cost-reducers like Puresteel Paladin and Danitha Capashen, Paragon. It tutors game-ending weapons such as Colossus Hammer and Two-Handed Axe using Stoneforge Mystic and Steelshaper's Gift, attaching them for free via Ardenn, Intrepid Archaeologist or Forge Anew. Combat multipliers and extra combat effects allow Lightning to eliminate one player per turn starting on Turn 4. Meanwhile, a premier defensive suite featuring Deflecting Swat, Flawless Maneuver, and Teferi's Protection—fetchable on demand using Sunforger—ensures that the commander survives opposing interaction to close out the game by Turn 6.
