Commander: Smaug the Magnificent

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This is a mono-red Treasure/voltron deck built around Smaug the Magnificent. Its primary plan is to amass a critical pile of Treasures, then use Smaug's haste to attack and let his trigger snipe opponents for lethal damage. Secondary paths use artifact-token ETB pings from Reckless Fireweaver and Ingenious Artillerist after bursts such as Brass's Bounty or There and Back Again's death-trigger Smaug token, and commander damage via Commander's Plate, Hammer of Nazahn, and Rogue's Passage. Xorn, Academy Manufactor, Goldspan Dragon, and Magda multiply tokens; Aggravated Assault fires Smaug's trigger multiple times. There and Back Again acts as a hidden Smaug engine, creating a 6/6 Dragon that leaves fourteen Treasures when it dies.
