Deck overview

Ghyrson Starn, Kelermorph commands a fast, highly synergistic Izzet spellslinger and storm deck that turns minor pings into lethal bursts of damage. Ghyrson's ability triggers whenever another source deals exactly 1 damage, adding 2 damage to that target. The deck leverages low-cost pingers like Firebrand Archer and Coruscation Mage, alongside 1-mana sweepers like End the Festivities and Blazing Volley, to wipe opposing creature boards and rapidly drain life totals. Explosive card draw engines such as Curiosity, Tandem Lookout, and Archmage Emeritus draw cards off damage triggers and spell casts, fueling high-velocity storm turns powered by Jeska's Will, Birgi, God of Storytelling, and Underworld Breach. The deck protects its setup with a robust suite of free and 1-mana countermagic, including Fierce Guardianship, Flusterstorm, and Swan Song. Ghyrson reliably assembles on Turn 3 and storms off for a same-turn table elimination by Turn 4.
