Deck overview

This deck is a Gruul artifact-punishment and +1/+1 counter beatdown deck commanded by Kibo, Uktabi Prince. The strategy revolves around giving opponents Banana artifact tokens and then systematically destroying them to grow your Apes and Monkeys into massive threats. Dense artifact hate from cards like Gorilla Shaman, Vandalblast, and Kogla, the Titan Ape triggers Kibo's counter ability rapidly while stripping opponents of mana rocks and utility. Evasion enablers such as Kodama of the West Tree and Duskshell Crawler ensure that growing creatures push lethal combat damage through opposing blockers. The deck also features explosive card draw engines like Viridian Revel and Return of the Wildspeaker to maintain momentum into the late game. While vulnerable to creature sweepers, a solid suite of instant-speed protection and redundant stompy threats allows the deck to rebuild and close games consistently around Turn 8.
