Deck overview

This deck is a mono-black control and reanimator deck commanded by M.O.D.O.K.. The primary strategy leverages M.O.D.O.K.'s life-fueled connive ability to aggressively filter through the library, grow M.O.D.O.K. into a lethal flying lifelink threat, and deposit heavy reanimation targets directly into the graveyard. On Turn 6, the deck combines M.O.D.O.K.'s static -1/-1 debuff with Maha, Its Feathers Night to reduce all opposing creatures' base toughness to 1, causing them to immediately die and locking opponents out of the board. Alternatively, Archfiend of Ifnir converts discard triggers into asymmetric one-sided board wipes. The deck finishes the game on Turn 8 through evasive aerial combat supplemented by direct life drain from Gray Merchant of Asphodel and Syr Konrad, the Grim. While soft to stack-based interaction and fast artifact strategies, its high density of spot removal and graveyard recursion provides robust mid-game control.
