Deck overview

This deck is an Esper Sphinx tribal midrange strategy commanded by The Ur-Sphinx. It uses Eminence and heavy cost reducers like Urza's Incubator and Heartless Summoning to cast expensive Sphinxes ahead of curve. The deck incorporates 12 copies of Sphinx's Approach, which act as cantrips early and turn into direct-to-battlefield creature tutors once five copies reach the graveyard. Its primary value engine, Unesh, Criosphinx Sovereign, converts every Sphinx cast into an opponent-separated card pile, rapidly drawing through the library and generating explosive turns. Victory is achieved through evasive combat damage with massive flyers, backed by one-sided board wipes like Raise the Palisade and Kindred Judgment. A suite of efficient counterspells, protection spells like Teferi's Protection, and attack taxes like Propaganda protect the pilot while the flying army closes the game.
