Monk gyatso by baum202

Format: Commander

Commander: Monk Gyatso

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This mono-white deck is built around Monk Gyatso's unique "airbend" ability, which lets you exile a creature you control whenever it becomes the target of a spell or ability, allowing its owner to recast it for {2} from exile. The deck uses this as a repeatable flicker engine to reuse enter-the-battlefield triggers, protect creatures, and generate incremental value. The primary game plan is to establish a stax shell (Archon of Emeria, Deafening Silence, Ghostly Prison, Trouble in Pairs) to slow opponents, then leverage the commander and a suite of cheap flicker spells (Cloudshift, Daydream, Personify) to loop value creatures like Solitude (not present) or Karmic Guide and Sun Titan for recursion. The deck wins through combat damage, either by grinding out with a board of small creatures or by using Grafted Wargear to pump a creature. There is no infinite combo, but the stax and recursion create a resilient, slow-grind engine.
