Deck overview

This mono-black lifegain/drain deck is helmed by Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose. The core plan is to gain life through lifelink creatures, death triggers, and sacrifice outlets, then convert each life-gain event into opponent life loss via Vito or redundant effects like Sanguine Bond and Marauding Blight-Priest. The deck also leans on a Cleric tribal subtheme for tutoring (Shadow-Rite Priest) and reanimation to recur bombs like Artisan of Kozilek or It That Betrays. The primary win condition is to assemble a critical mass of drain triggers and finish with a large Exsanguinate, accelerated by Bloodletter of Aclazotz doubling all life loss on your turn. Without a compact infinite loop, the deck relies on incremental, synergistic drain to outpace three opponents, making it a classic midrange value engine.
