Deck overview

This deck is an Abzan Aristocrats and graveyard-recursion midrange strategy commanded by Colfenor, the Last Yew. It aims to control the pace of the game through incremental resource attrition, value-generating sacrifice loops, and resilient creature engines. In the opening turns, the deck accelerates its mana using dense 2-CMC ramp and establishes defensive cantrip creatures like Wall of Blossoms and Wall of Omens. By Turn 5, it deploys Colfenor or alternative reanimators like Meren of Clan Nel Toth and Sun Titan alongside sacrifice outlets. From Turn 6 onward, the deck establishes an asymmetric lock or board dominance using Smokestack, World Queller, and Liesa, Forgotten Archangel while suppressing opposing threats with versatile exile removal. The game closes out around Turn 8 through overwhelming combat damage from evasive Spirit tokens, high-toughness beaters, and an unblockable Elenda, the Dusk Rose army, supported by recurring combat fogs from Spore Frog.
