Deck overview

This deck is a high-powered 5-color artifact midrange build commanded by Karn, Gilded Guardian. The core strategy revolves around deploying inexpensive, multi-colored artifact permanents during the early turns to build mana acceleration and board presence. On Turn 4, casting Karn converts your colored artifact footprint into massive card advantage, drawing 3 to 5 cards immediately. This surge in resources fuels explosive mid-game turns where the deck transitions into lethal combat threats such as Craterclaw Colossus, Cyberdrive Awakener, or Simulacrum Synthesizer Karnstruct swarms, backed by the draining power of Tezzeret, Master of the Bridge. The deck protects its proactive game plan with premier free countermagic and spot removal, including Fierce Guardianship, Deflecting Swat, Force of Will, and Deadly Rollick. Independent value engines like Urza, Lord High Artificer and Shorikai, Genesis Engine ensure resilience against board wipes, delivering a fast, robust clock that closes tables by Turn 6.
