Deck overview

This Golgari deck is led by Aphelia, Viper Whisperer and revolves around deathtouch creatures, Snake typal synergies, and asymmetric life-loss doubling. In the early turns, cheap mana dorks and ramp spells deploy Aphelia alongside low-cost deathtouchers such as Fang of Shigeki and Ankle Biter. Aphelia attacks to build an evasive, lethal board of deathtouch tokens. Once the board is established, the deck pivots into game-ending life-loss multiplication using Aphelia's {4}{B} ability alongside Wound Reflection or Archfiend of Despair, turning single combat connections into immediate table eliminations. Bite spells such as Ram Through and equipment like Viridian Longbow transform deathtouch creatures into repeatable creature removal engines. While the deck lacks stack interaction and tutor density, its efficient ramp curve, resilient recursion, and lethal damage scaling create a dangerous, interactive combat clock.
