Deck overview

This mono-black combo deck is led by Mikaeus, the Unhallowed and focuses on rapid graveyard tutoring, reanimation, and infinite aristocrat sacrifice loops. The primary win condition pairs Mikaeus with Triskelion to deal infinite direct damage across the table in a single turn. Powerful black tutors such as Buried Alive, Entomb, and Demonic Tutor quickly place key pieces into the graveyard or hand, while cost-efficient reanimation spells like Victimize, Reanimate, and Animate Dead assemble the winning board well ahead of normal mana curves. If Mikaeus is detained, redundant backup engines centered around Gravecrawler, Phyrexian Altar, Warren Soultrader, and drain payoffs like Blood Artist or Zulaport Cutthroat close the game with minimal delay. Dense card draw from Yawgmoth, Thran Physician and Necropotence fuels explosive turns, while targeted removal and sweepers keep opposing threats under control until the decisive combo turn.
