Deck overview

This deck is a mono-black group slug and creature-donation strategy led by Gideon the Oathless. The main plan revolves around forcing creature tokens onto opponents' battlefields using cards like Genesis Chamber, Akroan Horse, Hunted Horror, and Awaken the Erstwhile. Whenever these creatures enter under an opponent's control, Gideon and companion punishers like Blood Seeker and Trespasser's Curse deal direct life damage. To prevent opponents from attacking with these gifted armies, the deck runs static toughness reducers like Illness in the Ranks and Virulent Plague, alongside Maha, Its Feathers Night to wipe opposing boards upon entry. Pillowfort cards such as Crawlspace and Koskun Falls safeguard your life total, while finishers like Massacre Wurm convert wide boards into lethal bursts of life loss. Supported by low-cost removal and mana acceleration, the deck systematically wears down the table while keeping opposing creature strategies in check.
