Deck overview

This mono-black aristocrats deck uses Fain, the Broker as a modular engine to convert creatures, counters, and artifacts into versatile game actions. The deck develops by establishing early token generators such as Dreadhorde Invasion and recursive creatures like Reassembling Skeleton. It then leverages Fain, the Broker to produce +1/+1 counters, Treasure tokens, and flying Inkling tokens. As the board develops, engines like Pitiless Plunderer and Ashnod's Altar generate substantial mana and death triggers, while drain payoffs including Bastion of Remembrance, Marionette Apprentice, Nadier's Nightblade, and Mirkwood Bats steadily reduce opponents' life totals. The deck backs up this strategy with robust graveyard recursion through Phyrexian Reclamation, Vat of Rebirth, and Scrap Trawler, allowing it to rebuild after sweepers. It closes games by draining the table through continuous sacrifice loops or casting a lethal Exsanguinate.
