Format: Commander

Commander: Yawgmoth, Thran Physician

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

This is a mono-black aristocrats/combo deck that uses Yawgmoth, Thran Physician as the central sacrifice-and-draw engine. The early game is built around token generators and recursive creatures - Bitterblossom, Ophiomancer, Jadar, Ghoulcaller of Nephalia, Reassembling Skeleton, and Gravecrawler - which feed Yawgmoth's ability to draw cards, put -1/-1 counters on creatures, and churn through the deck. The deck then pivots into sacrifice loops involving Pitiless Plunderer, Warren Soultrader, Jet Medallion, and Mikaeus, the Unhallowed, converting infinite death triggers into infinite treasures and table-wide drain through Ayara, First of Locthwain, Blood Artist, Funeral Room // Awakening Hall, and Vein Ripper. A dense tutor and reanimation package - Buried Alive, Reanimate, Entomb, Demonic Counsel - finds the missing pieces. Yawgmoth is the glue, but the 99 contains a couple of commander-less loops, so the deck is not entirely hostage to him.
