Deck overview

This Gruul stompy deck utilizes the partner pairing of Gilanra, Caller of Wirewood and Alena, Kessig Trapper to produce a high-impact, big-mana midrange strategy. Gilanra sits in the command zone as guaranteed turn-three ramp that cantrips whenever you cast a spell with mana value 6 or greater. Alena converts the large power of those creatures into explosive red mana bursts, enabling multiple high-cost behemoths to enter the battlefield on the same turn. The deck mitigates mana screw by packing numerous landcyclers that fix mana early and double as late-game beaters. While lacking stack interaction and fast mana, the list overwhelms opposing boards through sheer threat density, trample damage, enter-the-battlefield burn, and combat triggers from cards like Drakuseth, Maw of Flames, Dragonlord Atarka, and Hideous Taskmaster. It reliably establishes its engine by Turn 5 and closes the game through combat by Turn 8.
