Deck overview

This list is an optimized cEDH Dimir tempo and combo deck commanded by Yuriko, the Tiger's Shadow. The primary game plan combines early board pressure, high card velocity, and a fast, compact win condition. On Turn 1, the deck deploys an evasive 1-drop creature, enabling a Turn 2 Commander ninjutsu activation. Because ninjutsu is an activated ability that puts Yuriko directly onto the battlefield tapped and attacking from the command zone, it bypasses commander tax entirely. Yuriko's combat damage trigger simultaneously draws cards and inflicts direct life loss on each opponent proportional to the revealed card's mana value. Topdeck manipulation tools like Scroll Rack, Brainstorm, and low-cost tutors allow the deck to weaponize high-mana-value spells like Shadow of Mortality and Temporal Trespass. To close games decisively, the deck pivots into the premier cEDH combo of Thassa's Oracle and Demonic Consultation, shielded by an extensive suite of 0-mana counterspells and instant-speed removal.
