Deck overview

This deck is a Grixis Villain tribal and discard-synergy strategy commanded by Doctor Doom, King of Latveria. The primary game plan revolves around casting Doctor Doom on Turn 4 to consistently trigger connive during combat. Conniving filters through the library while growing creatures with +1/+1 counters and draining each opponent for 2 life whenever a land card is discarded. The 99 reinforces this game plan with redundant Villain payoffs like Baron Strucker, Iron Monger, and Ultron, Unlimited alongside discard outlets and burn engines such as Faith of the Devoted, Magmakin Artillerist, and Change of Fortune. The deck wins by developing a wide, evasive board buffed by The Squadron Sinister and closing out opponents through a mix of heavy combat damage and incremental group slug life loss by Turn 8. While lacking fast combo finishes and unrestricted tutors, it offers strong synergy and steady card selection.
