Deck overview

This deck is an aggressive Orzhov Voltron deck led by Winter Soldier, Icy Assassin, designed to leverage high-density Equipment synergies and rapid commander damage. Winter Soldier enters early at two mana and scales power rapidly, gaining +2/+0 for each attached Equipment alongside innate vigilance and menace. The deck accelerates into combat readiness by Turn 4 using cost-bypass engines like Sigarda's Aid, Forge Anew, Puresteel Paladin, and Hammer of Nazahn to cheat heavy equip costs on massive stat-granting artifacts such as Colossus Hammer, Excalibur, Sword of Eden, and Wrecking Ball Arm. A robust suite of searchable continuous protection—including Lightning Greaves, Champion's Helm, Darksteel Plate, and Conqueror's Flail—insulates the commander from opposing disruption during combat steps. While sequential single-target combat inherently gives the table three response cycles to answer the Voltron threat, built-in reanimation and flexible recursion ensure resilient mid-to-late game table pressure.
