Deck overview

This deck is a classic Grixis discard and superfriends control deck built around Nicol Bolas, the Ravager. It aims to stall opposing development through early mana rock deployment and symmetric or asymmetric discard spells, depleting opponents' hands. Once resources are drained, the deck deploys high-impact planeswalkers, reanimation targets, and punishing enchantments such as Waste Not, Tergrid, God of Fright, and Bolas's Citadel. The primary win condition transforms the commander into Nicol Bolas, the Arisen or resolves dominant threats like Nicol Bolas, God-Pharaoh to control the board while grinding life totals to zero with Archon of Cruelty, Tinybones, Trinket Thief, and The Locust God. The deck excels at resource attrition and board wiping but is constrained by sorcery-speed velocity and prolonged vulnerability to wide combat attacks.
