Deck overview

This Rakdos deck is a Dragon tribal and Treasure-centric strategy helmed by Smaug, Wicked Worm. The deck leverages efficient 2-drop artifact acceleration to deploy Smaug on Turn 4, capitalizing on opposing artifacts to generate a burst of Treasure tokens. These Treasures fuel card draw through Smaug's static ability, allowing the deck to chain into large, evasive Dragon threats such as Terror of the Peaks, Cavern-Hoard Dragon, Goldspan Dragon, and Lathliss, Dragon Queen. Win conditions revolve around stacking heavy airborne combat damage with direct damage triggers from Dragon Tempest and Scourge of Valkas, or amplifying board presence via Kindred Charge and Molten Echoes. The deck carries a versatile suite of targeted removal and sweepers like Blasphemous Act to keep opposing boards in check, while mass reanimation from Living Death provides resilient late-game recovery against creature wipe effects.
