Smaug by Lord_Chanka

Format: Commander

Commander: Smaug the Magnificent

Bracket: 2

Deck overview

This is a mono-red Treasure/Dragon value deck helmed by Smaug the Magnificent, whose attack trigger converts your Treasure count into direct damage. The deck floods the board with Treasures from over twenty sources - Xorn, Goldspan Dragon, Captain Lannery Storm, Strike It Rich, Brass's Bounty - then wins through Smaug's escalating attack triggers, the alternate Hellkite Tyrant 20-artifact condition, or table-wide chip damage from Reckless Fireweaver and Weftstalker Ardent. Magda, Brazen Outlaw provides repeatable tutoring for key Dragons and artifacts. There are no infinite combos; the deck wins through incremental treasure accumulation and combat inevitability, with Daretti, Scrap Savant and Professional Face-Breaker supplying card flow. It is a straightforward, synergistic value deck that rewards careful sequencing of treasure generation and protecting Smaug as the primary payoff.
