Deck overview

This deck is a mono-black aristocrats and voltron hybrid that leverages Sarevok, Deathbringer alongside the Background Cultist of the Absolute. Starting with both commanders accessible, the deck aims to cast Cultist on Turn 1, deploy recurring token generators like Jadar, Ghoulcaller of Nephalia or Ophiomancer on early turns, and land a 6/7 flying, deathtouch Sarevok on Turn 4. Sarevok applies constant pressure by punishing opponents with 6 life loss if no permanents leave the battlefield during their turn, while also swinging for evasive commander damage. The 99-card deck supports this strategy with sacrifice fodder, death-trigger drain engines like Bastion of Remembrance and Syr Konrad, the Grim, and protective recursion spells. While the deck generates steady life-total attrition and recovers well from targeted removal, its reliance on incremental combat and trigger damage gives opponents multiple turns to coordinate answers or sweep the board.
