Deck overview

This deck is a Grixis Midrange strategy commanded by Sauron, the Dark Lord. It focuses on generating massive Orc Army tokens and leveraging the Ring Tempts You mechanic into overwhelming card advantage. The deck ramps during the early turns using efficient mana rocks, deploying Sauron by Turn 5. Sauron punishes opposing spellcasting by continuously growing an Army token. Whenever that Army connects in combat, the Ring tempts you, allowing you to discard your hand and draw four fresh cards. This engine rapidly digs through the library, feeding powerful payoffs like Lord of the Nazgûl, seven copies of Nazgûl, and game-ending mass reanimation through Living Death. Built-in ward protection on the commander makes single-target removal extremely costly for opponents, while a robust suite of cheap counterspells and board wipes ensures the deck controls the tempo of the game until it overruns the table in combat.
