Deck overview

This Orzhov deck is commanded by Killian, Decisive Mentor and combines Aura Voltron with pillowfort taxes and forced combat. The strategy centers on deploying low-cost Auras to trigger Killian's ability, tapping down potential blockers and goading opposing threats while drawing cards whenever enchanted creatures attack. The deck neutralizes incoming attacks through defensive enchantments like Ghostly Prison, Koskun Falls, and Sphere of Safety, forcing opponents to whittle down each other's life totals. Meanwhile, the pilot builds a massive, evasive threat using scaling Auras such as All That Glitters, Daybreak Coronet, and Ethereal Armor, or goes wide with token engines like Archon of Sun's Grace and Sigil of the Empty Throne. Powerful recursion pieces like Mantle of the Ancients and Retether ensure resilience against removal, allowing the deck to close out games through decisive combat damage.
