Deck overview

This deck is a high-power Izzet combo-control list built around Niv-Mizzet, Parun. Its primary objective is to accelerate into the commander and attach a Curiosity effect—such as Curiosity, Ophidian Eye, or Tandem Lookout—to initiate a deterministic loop that draws the entire library while dealing lethal damage to all opponents. Because Niv-Mizzet cannot be countered, the deck bypasses stack-based commander denial and relies on a suite of free and efficient countermagic including Force of Will and Fierce Guardianship to shield the combo when attaching Auras. In the mid-game, asymmetric draw engines like Rhystic Study and Mystic Remora combine with disruptive wheel effects (Wheel of Fortune, Windfall) to strip opposing hand advantage and churn through the library. If the primary commander line is contested, secondary threats such as The Locust God and Vivi Ornitier provide resilient alternate routes to close out the game.
