Deck overview

This deck is a Gruul midrange strategy commanded by Vrondiss, Rage of Ancients. It focuses on triggering Vrondiss's Enrage ability to generate 5/4 Dragon Spirit creature tokens. The deck uses controlled self-damage sources such as Pyrohemia, Goblin Bombardment, and dice-rolling cards to create tokens without destroying Vrondiss. Once tokens enter, passive damage engines like Terror of the Peaks, Dragon Tempest, and Purphoros, God of the Forge deal direct damage to opponents while Elemental Bond and Garruk's Uprising keep cards flowing. High-end Dragons including Utvara Hellkite and Atarka, World Render provide an alternate combat-focused win condition. The deck functions reliably in casual and mid-power tables by executing its synergistic board-building plan, but it features limited instant-speed interaction and modest protection against board wipes.
