Deck overview

This Grixis deck is commanded by Doctor Doom, King of Latveria, focusing on a Villain typal strategy driven by the connive mechanic and discard value. Early turns prioritize developing mana fixing and deploying low-cost Villains such as Prowler, Clawed Thief and Baron Strucker, HYDRA Overlord. Once Doctor Doom enters on Turn 4, every combat step triggers connive, granting menace, sculpting the hand, and draining opponents whenever land cards are pitched. Midgame turns leverage token generators like Madame Hydra and Ultron, Unlimited alongside scaling power engines like Iron Monger, Sadistic Tycoon and Glorious Purpose. The deck maintains control using a robust suite of Grixis removal spells, including Toxic Deluge, Terminate, and Bedevil. Victory is achieved by overwhelming opponents through evasive combat damage bolstered by lords like The Squadron Sinister and recurring non-combat life loss from discard triggers.
