Tergrid, God of Fright // Tergrid's Lantern by PireCL

Format: Commander

Commander: Tergrid, God of Fright // Tergrid's Lantern

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

This mono-black deck is built around Tergrid, God of Fright to convert forced discard and sacrifice effects into an overwhelming board by stealing opponents' permanents. The primary game plan is to deploy Tergrid early, then run a suite of symmetrical discard and sacrifice engines - Necrogen Mists, Braids, Cabal Minion, Plaguecrafter, Smokestack, and Ill-Gotten Gains - so that every opponent action fuels your own board. The deck also packs a dense recursion package (Reanimate, Animate Dead, Necromancy, Sheoldred, Whispering One) to reanimate value creatures or recur combo pieces. Secondary win conditions include draining via Gray Merchant of Asphodel and the Bolas's Citadel + Sensei's Divining Top + Aetherflux Reservoir loop. A massive tutor suite (Vampiric Tutor, Demonic Tutor, Imperial Seal, Grim Tutor, and more) ensures access to the key engine pieces.
