Deck overview

This Orzhov deck helmed by Niv-Mizzet, Ghost Counsel operates as a high-powered token swarm, aristocratic drain, and lifegain synergy engine. The game plan focuses on deploying low-mana token generators like Adeline, Resplendent Cathar, Ocelot Pride, and Bitterblossom, paired with Soul Sister effects like Soul Warden and Guide of Souls. Once established on Turn 4, the deck accelerates into critical onset on Turn 5 by casting powerful multipliers such as Archangel of Thune, Cathars' Crusade, or Sheoldred, the Apocalypse. A single combat phase generates massive token waves, pumping creatures into lethal threats and draining the table via Kambal, Profiteering Mayor and Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose to close the game on Turn 6. An elite suite of free protection spells like Clever Concealment, Flawless Maneuver, and Flare of Fortitude defends the board against sweepers, while Grave Pact and Yawgmoth, Thran Physician continuously dismantle opposing boards.
