Deck overview

This deck is a Gruul creature-based strategy commanded by Agatha of the Vile Cauldron. The primary plan revolves around increasing Agatha's power using Equipment like Hero's Blade, Auras like Lion Umbra, or +1/+1 counter engines, which drastically reduces the activation costs of creature abilities across the board down to a single mana. Once the discount engine is online, expensive mana sinks such as Bhaal's Invoker, Duskwatch Recruiter, and Captivating Crew become hyper-efficient weapons for card advantage, board control, and direct burn. The deck accelerates in the opening turns, establishes its core engine by turn 4, and threatens a game-ending state around turn 6 through massive burn bursts, swarming Hydra tokens, or an Insurrection swing. Solid instant-speed protection spells defend the board, while backup stompy threats ensure resilience if Agatha is removed.
