Deck overview

This Grand Arbiter Augustin IV deck is a dedicated Azorius stax and combo control build engineered to dismantle opposing game plans through asymmetric resource denial and close the game with a compact infinite combo. The deck establishes early control on Turns 1–3 by deploying fast mana (Chrome Mox, Sol Ring) alongside taxing and rule-setting permanents like Drannith Magistrate, Archon of Emeria, and Rule of Law. Once Grand Arbiter Augustin IV enters the battlefield, opponents suffer an omnipresent +1 mana tax while your own white and blue spells receive significant cost reductions, breaking parity across the table. With opponents restricted to casting a single taxed spell per turn cycle, the deck secures its primary win condition: tutoring for Heliod, Sun-Crowned and Walking Ballista. Giving Ballista lifelink via Heliod allows infinite instant-speed damage to all three opponents simultaneously, shielded by premier protection like Grand Abolisher and Silence.
